When Śyāmārānī began her service for Śrīla Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja in 1992, he expounded on Jayadeva’s poetry, alongside the elegant odes of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and others. One day in August of that year, he asked his new student, “Can you paint my heart?” He was referring to this divine vision which he meditated upon, Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s submission to Śrīmatī Rādhikā.
